This was easily the most exciting band in Austin, Texas, when they hit the scene. Twin genius guitars of the two tremendous Davids (Grissom and Holt) and Stevie Ray's former rhythm section backing the oh-so-soulful voice of Malcolm. In those days, with the incredible music scene going on, to be the top band of Austin said a LOT.
This album as well as the follow-up Dog Years caught the band really well. I saw many many shows back then and you just never got bored at all. These two albums (as well as the fore-runner 'Bluest Eyes' which was more of a solo effort than a band CD) capture the time very very well.
Cannot recommend this stuff enough. Five stars out of five, easily.
