You may have to really like Nick Cave to really like this album, although just liking some of Nick Cave didn't prevent me from liking it very, very much. Skeleton Tree is, at once, haunting, murky, illuminating, desperate, hopeful, depressive, exhilarating, morose, hugely melodic, but sometimes without melody - a sea of contradictions swirling around a seemingly limitless land mass, that being the hearts and minds of Cave and the Bad Seeds. If you download it, download it all. Even the couple of not-so-good "songs" belong in the crevices of all the really good ones.
