This is the Album that introduced me to Dire Straits. In fact it was Twisting by the pool. I just loved the music, the band and their interaction on stage. I was totally "smitten"? right word?
I played it to my kids,we watched their concerts, knew every move and word! It was trustworthy and truly entertaining. I had these little 5/4 year olds plus a between 1 & 2 yr old all bopping along dancing and singing. We did change a couple of words which were more suitable for little children to be repeating... not many, overall they were an outstanding band of their time. We had a ball, I will never forget it. Loved their concert in Sydney, didn't get there but saw it on TV. Got to Mark's Concert in Brisbane a couple of years ago, NOTHING has been lost by the passing of the years. No wonder Princess Di loved them.
Now my younger kids know and love their music. They ask me to play it when I am feeling down, great remedy!! You just can't keep still to Twisting by the pool, or Sultans of Swing!
