Four stars for historic value. Dick Monda is better known as "Daddy Dewdrop" of "Chick-a-Boom (Doncha Love it") fame in 1971. While he distanced himself from Contemporary Christian Music, when this album was recorded in 1969, Larry Norman's "Upon This Rock" was about the only other game in town. And Larry didn't try to "modernize" traditional hymns or gospel songs, as did Monda with "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "Just a Closer Walk With Thee," and "Go Down, Moses" (a killer cover!). Linda Ronstadt covered "We Need a Whole Lot More of Jesus (and a Lot Less Rock 'n Roll)" but I liked his version even better. I found this LP as a cut-out over 40 years ago and haven't seen hide nor hair since. I'm so grateful MP3VA, after years of begging, added this to their Playlist. If you only listen to one song to sample, I recommend "Go Down, Moses."
