Totally agree with the above. Classic album, showcasing the talents of Geezer, Bill and Tony with Dio up front (God rest his soul - great master of his art). The driving bass and guitars make it an album you will listen to over and over. Have bought it so many times.. Always have a copy at arms length. LnL, Stylzee.

Black Sabbath's 9th release 1980's: HEAVEN AND HELL
After the departure of the much loved Ozzy, many fans considered
Black Sabbath to be dead and buried... but not so.
Black Sabbath is resurrected through Ronnie James Dio, former frontman to
    Elf and Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.
The combination of Dio/Iommi/Butler produced some of the most potent
rock songs ever written. With Ozzy in the band it fell to Geezer as the chief
lyricist, but with Dio you got not only a great lyricist (some disagree) but a
musician also capable of writing melody.
While Ozzy's voice works well within a certain style, Dio is an exceptionally
powerful vocallist with the ability to sing many styles.
This new line-up's 1st recording together is the stone cold classic
HEAVEN AND HELL... it opens with the faster than typical track
"Neon Knights" with a fierce galloping rhythm and vicious guitar that sets the tone for the entire album and in fact all Sabbath records to come.
Next up is "Children of the Sea" one of the very finest tracks Sabbath ever
produced, and one of the songs forever in the live sets of both Sabbath
and Dio's solo band (the exception being the Ozzy reunion where they play only Oz era material).
Rounding out the A-list on this record is the fantastic "Die Young" (released as a single as well as "Neon Knights") and the epic title track "Heaven and Hell" sporting one of Iommi (and Metal's) greatest riffs... a song so great as to warrent a moniker change from
Black Sabbath to Heaven&Hell when the band reunited decades later.
Both "Die Young" and "H&H" feature excellent playing from Tony Iommi
and became showcase songs for him within the live sets.
The closing track "Lonely is the Word" is another standout and the type of song that they had tried a few times with Ozzy but had never really been
able to pull off until the addition of Dio.
The 2 remaining songs are more pedestrian, "Wishing Well" and
"Walk Away". They are both good songs and for many rock bands these would be very strong, but when compared to the rest of the album they come off as a little tepid, maybe even as filler. Nonetheless these tunes
don't diminish the overall awesome might of the record as a whole.
Black Sabbath's HEAVEN AND HELL is an absolute must have for any
fans of Sabbath, or hard rock/heavy metal music and should be included in your personal music library.
